The second new 10" on the Belly Ska riddim features Marina P and Nafees and is something quite different.....
Sista Marina came to our attention through the Bhale Bacce Crew in France where she voiced her powerful, Divorce A L’itallienne. Marina has a background in musicals, theatre and jazz. In France she has worked with Pull it Jah, where she has toured extensively. She is now working with her Parisian reggae group Surviv’all and with plenty French Soundsystems. Divorce A L’itallienne has been receiving a lot of interest through myspace due to the diva like qualities of the vocal and is set for success far out with the reggae world. Nafees is one of the freshest MC’s in the UK right now with a conscious lyrical style that does not disappoint. Having performed alongside artists like Ms. Dynamite, Kano and Rodney P to state but a few through to supporting Snoop Dog, being showcased on 1Xtra, not to mention working with a host of quality producers up and down the country, Nafees is one busy man! His cut on Belly Ska is something different and something quite special, he blends a hip hop style seamlessly onto the riddim and it works a treat. The Marina cut is followed by a blistering dub and is the most extreme of all the dubs with lots of reverb and delay flying overhead. Following Nafees' track is a heavy dubstep inspired remix, this is a slow burner currently rocking the dubstep dances and is but a nod towards the collection of dubstep waiting to bruk out pon Scotch Bonnet.
